CPD information
The Nutrition in Healthcare Conference is approved for 11 CPD hours (Educational Activities) with the Royal Australian College of GPs and the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine. Members who attend the full program will be awarded 11 CPD hours. Members attending on Saturday only will be awarded 5 CPD hours and those attendings on Sunday only will be awarded 6 CPD hours. If you are a health professional associated with a different professional body, you may be able to self-claim CPD hours or points subject to the rules of your professional body.

Conference dinner
Join us for Doctors For Nutrition’s peak social event: the Nutrition in Healthcare Conference Dinner. Connect with like-minded people and enjoy a celebration of whole food plant-based culinary delights through an array of nourishing dishes. Professor Boyd Swinburn will be speaking at the conference dinner, presenting on the global syndemic of obesity, malnutrition and climate change. This is an alcohol free event.
Saturday run
Get a boost of endorphins on a summer morning. Take a 5 km run through the parks of Melbourne, guided by local GP, Dr Malcolm Mackay.
Saturday mindfulness
Start your conference day with mental clarity, feeling refreshed and ready to focus. The session will be led by Kumbi Mukaro, an experienced mindfulness practitioner.
Sunday walk
Declutter your brain and get your body moving by enjoying a guided 3km walk in nature through Kings Domain, led by Dr Andrew Davies.
Sunday yoga
Slow down and bring harmony to your mind and body with a guided yoga class run by Julia Grueskin, an experienced instructor. Suitable for all abilities.
What is WFPB nutrition and how can we prescribe it?
Learn the principles of whole food plant-based nutrition and the benefits of an eating pattern centered on fruits, vegetables, legumes and whole grains. You’ll come away with practical tips to help you support your patients to make dietary changes and improve their health. Hosted by Dr Renae Thomas.
Children’s health cooking class
Discover how to make simple, child-friendly and wholesome whole food plant-based meals the whole family can enjoy together. Hosted by Dr Ayesha Sherzai and Dr Heleen (Roex) Haitjema.
Over two full days, NIHC23 will welcome more than 20 medical and dietetic expert speakers who will showcase both the long-established and the latest research on whole food plant-based nutrition. You’ll learn about the role of diet in the prevention, management and reversal of numerous chronic disease conditions.
